Lorenzo Patricio (55 kilograms) and Marcus Luther (65 kilograms) headlined day six at the World Boxing Cup: China 2026 Tournament in Guiyang City, China, for the USA Boxing Elite High Performance Team. The two American standouts secured spots in Sunday’s gold-medal bouts with semifinal victories on Saturday, Patricio in the 55-kilogram division and Luther in the 65-kilogram division. There will be two competition sessions on Sunday, the final day of tournament contention in China. Patricio squared off against India’s Nikhil Nikhil in the 55-kilogram semifinals and continued his impressive run in China.

The Hawaii native lost the first round 4-1, but Patricio came out hot in the second round and dominated the final two rounds, winning the second round 5-0 and the third round 4-1, earning his third unanimous decision victory in China and punching his ticket into the finals.

Patricio will look to capture his first gold medal of 2026 and the third international gold medal of his career. He will face China’s Jiamao Zhang on Sunday, in Session 2, Ring A, Bout 10, beginning at approximately 8:45 a.m. ET.

Like Patricio, Luther showed his resilience after dropping the opening round 4-1. The Washington, D.C., native responded by dominating the final two rounds. Luther controlled the final two rounds, winning each frame 5-0 to secure his third unanimous decision victory in China and earn a spot in the World Boxing Cup: China 2026 finals.

Luther will look to capture the first international gold medal of his career and will face France’s Hugo Grau on Sunday in Session 2, Ring A, Bout 3, beginning at approximately 7 a.m. ET.
