Javid Basharat has reportedly found his new home following his surprising UFC exit.
In February, Basharat was among several names that were cut from the leading MMA promotionâs roster.
His departure came as a surprise considering that heâd won just days before to improve his record inside the Octagon to 4-2-1.
After Basharat reflected on his UFC departure, it looks like heâs ready to begin the next chapter of his career by signing to a new promotion.
If you were Dana White, whoâs the first fighter youâd cut from the UFC roster?
Javid Basharat reportedly signs to PFL following surprising UFC departure
On June 21, zaclikesMMA on X reported that Javid Basharat has signed to the PFL following the end of his UFC career.
âThe Snow Leopardâ bounced back from the first two losses of his career last time out, beating replacement opponent Gianni Vaszquez following defeats to Ricky Simon and Aiemann Zahabi.
Basharat made his UFC debut back in 2022 following a win on Dana Whiteâs Contender Series that the promotionâs president said he was âblown awayâ by when awarding him a contract.
While the 30-year-old earned a spot on the roster thanks to a submission win, all four of his victories in the UFC came via decision, which seems to be why heâs no longer under contract.

The PFL hasnât crowned a bantamweight champion yet since moving away from the season format last year.
Former UFC flyweight Sergio Pettis is currently the top-ranked fighter in the promotionâs 135-pound division, with the likes of Mitch McKee and Taylor Lapilus behind him.
Pettis is looking to bounce back from a loss to McKee when he returns to face Lewis McGrillen on July 18.
