LAS VEGAS – MMA Junkie was on scene and reporting live from Friday’s UFC Fight Night 279 (Paramount+) fighter weigh-ins, where everyone was weighed in and official in a record-fast time.
Flyweight contenders Manel Kape (22-7 MMA, 7-3 UFC) and Kyoji Horiguchi (36-5 MMA, 9-1 UFC) meet in the main event, and Ion Cutelaba (20-11-1 MMA, 9-10-1 UFC) and Navajo Stirling (9-0 MMA, 4-0 UFC) fight in the light heavyweight co-feature. all hit their marks without issue.
Only Kevin Borjas was off by 3 pounds for his flyweight fight to close out the prelims against Andre Lima, who was set at 126. Borjas will be fined 20 percent of his purse, but the fight will go on.
